Eruhen and her elder sister Angdail (also a character in Landroval) were both born in Gondolin as members of a branch of the Thlim Salgant. They participated in the flight from the city of women and children led by Tuor and Idril and settled in the Falas until the War of Wrath and the drowning of Beleriand. Since their parents had defied the ban of the Valar by following Turgon the Wise out of Aman across the ice, they were forced to remain in Middle Earth and during the Second Age they settled in Mithlond and became separated as each chose her own path. Eruhen, skilled at calligraphy and the visual arts took service with Cirdan the Shipwright. She partook in many sea voyages with her own people and with the Numenoreans, whose language she became fluent in. Being accomplished in sorcery, she was sent to help with the great undertaking of Celebrimbor in his ring crafting, oftimes working alongside a charming emissary of the Valar. When the treachery of "Annatar" was laid bare and Sauron's armies stormed across Eregion, she and hundreds of others fled into Moria to be shut up there when Durin III shut the gates to the Enemy. After she was able to leave once again, she returned to Mithlond and labored there, with few interruptions until the Third Age wore into its third millenium.
